What data Dr Gnoxx processes

Depending on how you use Dr Gnoxx, we may process:

• the question you enter
• a name or nickname you provide voluntarily
• an email address you provide voluntarily
• the language of your question and your selected interface language
• the time of submission
• the moderation and publication status
• the answer that is created
• technical security and abuse information (in particular a shortened, hashed form of your IP address for rate limiting)
• your user ID if you are signed in

We deliberately do not ask for more information than we need to answer your question.

Particularly sensitive information

Dr Gnoxx covers topics such as health, sexuality, sexual orientation, mental strain, relationships and other very personal areas of life. You may therefore voluntarily share particularly sensitive information about yourself.

Please only share information that is genuinely necessary for your question. Do not include full names, addresses, phone numbers or other data that could identify other people.

We process such information only on the basis of your explicit consent, which you give when submitting your question (Art. 6(1)(a), Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future and request deletion of your question — an email to support@gnoxx.de is enough.

Publication of questions

After review, your question may be published on Dr Gnoxx anonymously or under the nickname you provided. We do not publish personal contact details. If we detect personal information in your text, we remove or replace it before publication.

Email notification and news

Providing an email address is entirely voluntary. We use it to confirm your address, to let you know when your answer is ready and — if you opted in — to send occasional news and updates from GNoxx. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

You can withdraw your consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email or by writing to support@gnoxx.de.

Your email address is never shown publicly and is deleted at the latest 30 days after the notification, unless a statutory retention obligation applies.

Automated processing and AI

Dr Gnoxx uses automated systems, in particular for:

• language detection
• spam detection
• safety checks (for example detecting emergencies)
• detection of personal data
• moderation
• duplicate detection
• support in creating the answer
• quality checks before publication

Answers are not necessarily written by a human. For this processing, the text of your question is transmitted to the AI gateway we use.

Service providers we use

• Hosting and application operation — purpose: delivering the website and technical error reports. Data: server and usage data, error messages. Legal basis: legitimate interest in secure operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Cloud database — purpose: storing questions, answers, moderation data and accounts. Legal basis: consent, contract performance and legitimate interest.
• AI gateway (Google Gemini models) — purpose: moderation, safety and quality checks and creating answers. Data: the text of your question. Legal basis: consent.
• Google Cloud Translation — purpose: translating published questions and answers and, only when local detection is inconclusive, language detection. Data: only the required question and answer text or a short detection sample. Email addresses, names, user IDs, IP data and credentials are not transmitted for this purpose. Legal basis: consent.
• Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH) — purpose: sending transactional emails and managing your email contact and news consent. Data: email address, nickname, language, consent status. Legal basis: consent.

We do not use analytics, tracking or advertising services (such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel). We only use technically necessary cookies or local storage, for example for your language preference and for signing in to the admin area.

No advertising based on your questions

The content of your Dr Gnoxx question is not used for advertising profiles, personalised advertising or targeting — not even within Gnoxx.

IP addresses and server logs

We do not store raw IP addresses with your question. For rate limiting and abuse protection we only use a shortened, salted hash. Technically necessary server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operation.

Retention

Published questions and answers stay available in the archive until you request deletion or we remove them. Rejected submissions and internal moderation data are deleted once they are no longer needed for security and accountability.

Your rights

Subject to the legal requirements, data subjects may have the following rights:
