Everyone around me is either completely obsessed with making out or totally grossed out by it, while I just feel… absolutely nothing. I’ve realized I’m probably asexual, but how do I actually bring this up to my older brother without turning it into a massive, awkward ordeal?

Short answer: You’re not broken, you’re just tuned to your own station—and looping in your older sibling is a fantastic first step.
Pop culture loves to act like wanting sex is the default factory setting for every teenager, so feeling completely indifferent can feel like you somehow missed an important internal memo. But asexuality is a huge, valid spectrum. Some ace people find intimacy gross, others are completely neutral, and some just genuinely have zero interest in the whole thing. It’s not a medical glitch, it’s just who you are.
You don’t need a dramatic PowerPoint presentation or a solemn sit-down talk to tell him. Pick a totally ordinary, low-pressure moment—like making toast in the kitchen or driving to the grocery store—and keep it simple. You could literally say: "Hey, you know how everyone talks constantly about hookups? I’ve realized that’s not really my thing at all. Pretty sure I’m ace, and I just wanted to share that with you."
A good sibling might blink, ask a slightly clumsy question to understand, and then pass the peanut butter. You don't have to defend your identity; you’re just inviting him to know you better.
