Finally got my own place and thought I'd figure out getting off, but here’s the embarrassing part: I literally cannot climax unless I’m reading spicy fanfiction 💀 My super religious bestie sent this long WhatsApp rant last week calling that exact stuff 'spiritually toxic' and now I feel totally filthy every time it works. Am I broken for needing stories to finish?!

Dr Gnoxx answers

Take a deep breath and close that guilt tab: your brain is your biggest sex organ, and words are just spicy fuel for the engine. You are definitely not broken. Needing erotic stories, audio, or a vivid daydream to cross the finish line is ridiculously common. Reading stimulates your imagination, distracts you from performance anxiety, and helps your body relax enough to let the magic happen. Your friend’s WhatsApp sermon belongs to her personal beliefs, not your private anatomy. Inviting an invisible, judgy critic into your brand-new bedroom is the ultimate mood killer. Your own place means your rules. Next time you want to explore, give yourself permission to read whatever turns your key without hosting a committee meeting about it. If your bestie brings it up again, just hit her with a breezy: "Let’s stick to talking about movies, my reading list is private." Enjoy your space, your stories, and your orgasms. You don't owe anyone an apology for what flips the switch.
