Dr Gnoxx

Got kicked from a massive party group chat because an app match got petty and told the host to boot me. Felt awful until cops raided the place last night and people got cited. Is it messed up that getting rejected literally saved me and I'm just relieved?

Dr Gnoxx answers

Not messed up at all. Take the accidental win. Rejection burns right up until you realize the room you were locked out of was a trap. What felt like petty social humiliation on Friday was just pure, dumb luck disguised as high school drama. The universe gave you an exit ramp before the sirens started. Your best move now is quiet discretion. Don't gloat, don't post memes about dodging a bullet, and definitely don't message the match to thank them. People dealing with court dates, angry parents, or grounded phones will only take their stress out on anyone who looks smug about missing it. If classmates bring up the party on Monday, a neutral 'Yeah, I ended up staying home' is the only script you need. Sometimes the best social favor someone can do you is locking the door from the outside.
