Had my first week at a retail job and felt completely drained after standing all day. I texted a Tinder match I really liked that I was wrecked and felt gross from the shift. They read it immediately and instantly unmatched. Now I can't stop staring in the mirror feeling physically repulsive. Is showing exhaustion really such a turn-off?

An instant unmatch over a message about being tired has nothing to do with your face, your body, or how attractive you are. It simply means this person was looking for frictionless fantasy banter and bailed the second real life entered the chat.
On dating apps, a lot of people only have the bandwidth for effortless flirtation. The moment you mentioned physical exhaustion, you brought actual reality into a dynamic they wanted to keep strictly theoretical. That doesn't make you undesirable or your message wrong; it just weeds out someone who couldn't handle a normal person having a long day at work.
Because your first retail shifts leave you physically depleted, your mind is projecting that raw, vulnerable fatigue onto your looks. A stranger’s two-second decision does not get to define your physical worth.
Put your phone down, soak your feet, and step away from the mirror. Your body just powered through hard physical labor—it deserves rest and a decent meal, not an inspection.
