I basically ghosted my lifelong best friend because this guy from my climbing gym convinced me she was holding me back and took over all my free time. Last night I found his TikTok where he literally bragged in a trend about how easy it is to isolate girls from their friends 💀 I feel sick to my stomach and so guilty. How do I even face her again? 😭

Deep breath: you didn't just make a messy dating mistake, you walked into a calculated trap set by a human red flag. That sick feeling in your stomach? That’s your gut waking up from anesthesia. Take a beat to digest this: he didn't demand all your time because he adored you, he treated breaking your support network like an arcade game. Feeling terrible proves your heart still works, but stewing in shame only gives him the win.
Your best friend doesn't need a polished PR speech. She needs radical, humble honesty. Reach out—preferably with a voice message or her favorite takeout in hand—and say: "I let a manipulative guy get into my head and I pushed you away. I was completely wrong, I miss you, and I don't expect instant forgiveness, but you deserve the truth."
Real friends can survive a derailment if you own it without making excuses. Cut the gym climber out of your life like the dead weight he is, and start doing the only climbing that matters right now: climbing back to your person.
