I feel awful even complaining, but my sibling moved into my first flat to split costs and immediately brought their unemployed partner along. He doesn't pay a cent, eats all my food, and my emergency savings are completely gone. Am I being a horrible person for wanting him out?

Clear your conscience immediately: you signed up for a roommate, not to run an accidental all-inclusive resort for your sibling’s plus-one. Wanting to keep your own hard-earned groceries does not make you a monster. What’s happening here is simple: your sibling gets to play the generous, loving partner completely on your dime while your savings bleed dry. That’s not family solidarity, that’s just taking advantage of your polite nature. Time to stop whispering apologies and deliver a calm reality check: 'We agreed on splitting bills between the two of us. Having a third person here is draining my finances. He either contributes his third of rent and food starting next Monday, or he needs to pack his bags.' No negotiations, no guilt trips. Protecting your own roof isn’t cruel—it’s called basic adult survival.
