My best friend and I ran a body-positive TikTok account together for over a year. Last month she ghosted our project and started appearing in videos with her new boyfriend—whose entire niche is mocking mid-size bodies like mine. How do I bring this up without sounding like a bitter ex-collaborator?

You don't address this as a creator; you address it as a friend whose trust was broken. What hurts here isn’t a creative pivot—it’s watching someone you care about lend her presence and tacit approval to content that demeans your body and the community you built together. In new relationships, people sometimes compromise their values to mirror a partner, trading integrity for validation or engagement. That explains her behavior, but it doesn't excuse the sting of it. Step entirely away from creator talk and make it about the relationship. Send one direct, offline message: "I don’t care about the account, but seeing you participate in jokes mocking mid-size bodies feels like a direct hit at me and everything we stood for. It hurts, and I need to know where we actually stand." Keep the focus purely on her choice to endorse that behavior. If she brushes it off as "just jokes" or accuses you of jealousy, she’s telling you exactly what she's willing to sacrifice for cheap views.
