my campus crush just posted some stupid snap story bragging about giving someone 'the best orgasm of their life' and i feel physically sick?? like half jealous of whoever that was, but mostly broken because i’ve literally never managed to climax with a partner. is it normal to feel this inadequate over a post, or am i just completely behind everyone else?

Dr Gnoxx answers

You are not broken, and you are not behind. People who boast on social media about their bedroom skills are staging an ego performance, not submitting a verified report. Two things are colliding here: your crush on them, and the exhausting myth that everyone else is having effortless, cinematic orgasms. In reality, a large percentage of university students—especially anyone who needs specific clitoral touch, zero stress, or deep trust—rarely or never climaxes with a partner early on. An orgasm requires your nervous system to feel safe and relaxed, which is the exact opposite of the hyper-competitive pressure that Snapchat story just triggered in you. Mute their stories today so you stop feeding that comparison loop. Then, take climaxing off your personal checklist for a while. When you explore your body alone or with someone, focus entirely on what sensation feels good in that exact minute, without treating a climax as a pass/fail grade. Someone bragging online about their prowess usually makes a terrible, self-absorbed lover anyway. Don't measure your body against their hype.
