My dad monitors practically everything I do under his roof—curfews, my spending, who visits. Yesterday TikTok suggested an account with his distinct motorcycle handle. Curious, I checked his activity. It’s definitely him: leaving cringey, suggestive comments and sending expensive gifts on livestreams. The surreal part? The local creator he’s showering with attention is someone I literally had homeroom with in high school. He has zero clue I know her. Part of me wants to drop this bomb the next time he micromanages me, but I'm deeply unsettled. What do I even do with this?

Do not weaponize this as leverage in an argument, but let it instantly dissolve his moral authority over your life. When an overbearing parent demands total control at home, it is often a desperate attempt to feel in charge while their private life is slipping through their fingers. What you saw isn't just awkward; it completely shatters the illusion of his high ground.
Blackmailing him or blurting it out when he lectures you will only cause a nuclear deflection—he will make your "snooping" the crime to avoid facing his own embarrassing behavior. Instead, use this knowledge privately to emotionally detach. You are an adult living with another adult whose flaws are messy, hypocritical, and distinctly human.
Take screenshots and save them somewhere secure off your phone, strictly in case this escalates into financial recklessness that affects the household. Then, channel every ounce of energy into your exit strategy. The next time he tries to micromanage your personal choices, you don't need to mention TikTok at all. Just look at him steadily and say, "Dad, I'm an adult, and neither of us needs to monitor the other's private life."
Seeing behind the parental curtain is jarring, but it can also be the thing that finally sets you free.
