My entire skirt ripped open on the Founders' Day float and now half this pathetic town has the slow-mo clip. I was just starting to see someone amazing, and surprise: turns out his spiteful little sister is the one who filmed and posted it to ruin things. Am I supposed to just smile through Sunday brunch with his family while everyone giggles, or burn this whole place down?

First things first: keep the matches in your pocket, but drop the fake polite smile immediately.
Wardrobe fails happen to rockstars and royals, but weaponizing a torn seam to sabotage someone’s love life is textbook small-town villain behavior. His sister didn't expose your dignity; she exposed her own pathetic insecurity. What matters right now isn't the town group chat having the attention span of a goldfish—it's whose side your new flame takes when the dust settles.
Don't let her play puppet master in the shadows. Put the ball squarely in his court before any awkward family dinners. Say to him: "I really like where this is going between us, but your sister leaked that video on purpose to blow us up, and I need to know you have my back on this."
If he flinches or makes excuses for her, he’s not ready for grown-up love anyway. And if he stands up for you? Walk into that town with your head high—after all, you gave them the best parade they’ve had in decades.
