My heart literally stopped when my coworker slid into my DMs last night asking to grab coffee 💀 He's funny, super cute, and doesn't care about religion at all. But my parents are already dropping hints about finding me a husband from our community once I finish my supermarket apprenticeship. I'm catching feelings so fast it scares me, what am I supposed to do??

First of all, take a sip of water: having butterflies for a cute coworker isn't a crime, even if your living room feels like the Vatican right now.
Here’s the reality check: you’re at the very start of your working life, and right now, this is just a promising crush over iced coffee, not a runaway wedding to Vegas. Your parents have their traditional roadmap all printed out, but you are the one actually driving your life. You don't have to blow up family dinner tonight with a dramatic confession about a guy who hasn't even bought you that latte yet.
Take the pressure off the pedestal. Say yes to the coffee, hang out as normal human beings outside the supermarket aisles, and figure out who he is before you cast him as the star in a forbidden romance drama. If things get serious later, you can cross the family bridge with a clearer head. For now, try: "Coffee sounds great, let’s do it after our shift on Friday."
Enjoy the buzz—you're allowed to explore your own taste in people before anyone hands you a wedding menu.
