One stupid Insta tag from a pizza night and my parents are literally threatening to stop paying for uni unless I ghost my entire friend group 💀 They convinced themselves I'm secretly dating someone at the table and won't listen to reason. I still live at home and feel so trapped and hurt right now. How do I survive this?

Short answer: using tuition as an emotional remote control is toxic, no matter how traditional your family claims to be.
Your parents saw a tagged photo, spun an entire soap opera in their heads, and immediately jumped to the nuclear option. Financial blackmail stings like hell because it targets your security, especially when you still have to cross their living room every morning.
First rule of engagement: don't match their volume. When everyone is yelling, the person holding the purse strings always thinks they won. Wait for the room to cool down, look them in the eye, and give them boring, steady facts. You can say: "I know that photo startled you, but it was just a group dinner. Threatening my education over a misunderstanding really hurts, and I need us to handle this like adults."
In the meantime, turn on manual tag review on Instagram immediately. There's no need to hand the family surveillance committee fresh material while you live under their roof.
You don’t have to burn down your friendships to keep your peace—just keep your cool and start quietly looking into student jobs and backup options, just in case.
