Someone in my vocational class is deliberately getting my Tinder banned and I'm 99% sure it’s my study partner. Every time she glances at my screen, bam, another strike or profile lock. Why would she sabotage my dating life like that? Is she jealous, or just secretly toxic? I literally can't focus on our trade exams because I'm spiraling trying to catch her.
Dr Gnoxx answers
Deep breath before you launch a full-blown espionage operation during trade school: she might actually be saving your skin.
When your dating profile takes hit after hit, your brain naturally defaults to classroom drama and petty jealousy. But here’s the unglamorous reality of modern dating apps: photo theft is rampant. Bots and scammers constantly scrape pictures of real people, build cloned accounts, and hit up people at neighboring schools for cash, fake emergencies, or crypto nonsense. If your study partner has been frantically hitting the report button, she probably didn't target *you*—she likely spotted a shady twin using your face to hustle other apprentices.
Drop the covert stares across your workbench and just bring it up over coffee: "Hey, weird question, but did you stumble across a fake profile using my pictures recently? Tinder is acting insane." Her reaction will clear the air in about three seconds.
Save the detective work for your final exams, check your privacy settings, and pack away the conspiracy board.
