sorry if this sounds totally neurotic, but my situationship’s phone mirrored onto the lecture hall projector today and blew up with Hinge notifications... we literally agreed to be exclusive on Tuesday? And then my best friend confessed SHE was the catfish texting him just to prove he'd cheat on me in front of our entire seminar. I feel sick and don't know who I'm even mad at.

Deep breath: you are allowed to be thoroughly furious at both of them. Let’s unpack the double whammy here. Your situationship showed sixty classmates and a very bored professor that his word isn't worth the screen it was mirrored on. That hurts, but at least the trash basically took itself out via HDMI cable. The thornier sting is your best friend playing amateur private eye in seminar row four. Even if her intentions were protective, setting a public bear trap and turning your private life into live campus theater isn't loyalty—it’s meddling with a bullhorn. Ditch the situationship with zero fanfare: "Saw the projector, we're done." Then take your friend for coffee and be blunt: "Thank you for having my back, but setting me up to be publicly humiliated is not how you protect me." Real friends don't audition your heartbreak for an audience.
