Dr Gnoxx

Why on earth did I let my ex convince me at 2 AM that pulling out is 'scientifically foolproof'? I panicked the next morning and ran straight to the pharmacy for the pill, but now he is mysteriously leaving me on delivered the second I asked him to split the cost. Was I naive to believe him, and is he really going to ghost me over twenty bucks after causing this mess?

Dr Gnoxx answers

First things first: you did the absolute right thing by sprinting to the pharmacy, because the pull-out method is about as 'scientifically foolproof' as checking the weather by sticking your tongue out the window. Pre-ejaculate can carry plenty of ambitious sperm, and betting your peace of mind on an ex’s late-night reflexes is pure roulette. Now to the disappearing act: dodging half the bill after sweet-talking you into risky sex is prime coward behavior. He had his fun, and the second reality knocked on the door, he turned into a digital ghost. Send him one flat, unbothered message: 'Emergency contraception was $45. Your half is $22.50. Request sent.' If he pays, fine. If he keeps dodging, don't waste another ounce of energy chasing him down. Consider that money a cheap exit fee to ensure that man never gets within six feet of your bed again.
